These books will put good literature into the hands of students whose family are on the poverty spectrum. Many of these students do not have books in their homes. My school's mission is a community of learners that strives to provide students with a safe and nurturing environment, supporting every educational, developmental, and social need. Providing students with good literature can help students fall in love with reading. I will use this literature to aid students in a program called Mentor Sentences. Mentor Sentence program helps students learn parts of speech, comprise meaningful sentences, and become better writers. My goal is to ensure when students leave my class they are fully prepared to be successful going into third grade.
