During this year's Holocaust unit, students were able to read true survivor stories. These stories greatly impacted the students on an emotional level beyond the skills we focused on. Throughout the unit, students were engrossed in their novels, and a lot of students boasted that it is the only book they have ever read on their own! Many tears were shed, and many questions were answered while reading. \r\n\r\nAfter the unit, many students continued their reading by checking out more and more books over the Holocaust from the local public library. They have been greatly touched by the stories of these individuals, and I know they will carry these stories with them the rest of their lives. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping me provide my students with such an impactful gift!
