We have a diverse group of students and a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and abilities. But, because we are a new school reading resources are limited, or not available. I have twenty-three Kindergarten students in class. They all come to school eager to learn and be a part of our learning community. They are an active group that loves to learn and share. They love story-time and are always excited to hear a new book. We are an active, child-centered classroom. During our literature centers, students are actively learning in centers. The centers include: Reading, Writing, Word Work, ABC, Fine Motor, Blocks, Science, Drama, Puppets, Art, Poetry, Games and Puzzles. The only center we are missing is the Listening Center. My students would love to curl up with a book and listen to an audio story at this time.
