The opportunity to create slime sparked curiosity and creativity, while bubbles brought pure joy and encouraged movement and social interaction. These simple activities helped my students relax, connect with one another, and celebrate all the progress they have made this year.\r\n\r\nThe smiles on their faces said it all. We have been using the software Tinkercad to design a variety of projects this year, but we had exhausted my supply of filament so this resupply was just in time. \r\nMy gifted students in third and fourth grade just finished learning about NASA's mission patches and created their own mission patches that they then transferred into Tinkercad software. Each student was able to print out their own mission patch. Each group also created a group mission patch to represent to whole group. They were extremely proud of their work and shared it with the staff and students throughout the building. They cannot wait to take them home.\r\nMy afterschool club also just created their own custom keychains. They designed them on Tinkercad, then printed them on the 3D printers. Finally, they used the tools in our room to install the appropriate hardware.\r\nMy third and fourth grade STEAM students are about create a school \"token\" on Tinkercad as well. Unlike traditional microscopes where one student looks through a lens at a time, the Zoomy allows us to project a ladybug's wing or a fabric swatch onto the big screen for the entire class to analyze together. This has led to incredible classroom discussions and collective \"wow\" moments that simply weren't possible before.\r\nWe have been able to look at a wide variety of interesting objects under our Zoomy microscopes. We saw the microprinting, silk-fibers, and other fine details of the one dollar bill. We saw the \"veins\" on the underside of the leaf. We observed the many layers of the 3D printed objects. Students particularly enjoyed looking at their body parts such as skin, hair, and nails.\r\nFor my students who struggle with fine motor skills or traditional eyepiece focusing, these handheld microscopes have made science accessible. They can now participate fully in every lab, capturing their own photos and videos of their discoveries to include in their digital portfolios.\r\nYour kindness has removed a barrier to learning and replaced it with a window into the unseen world. They get to see themselves in a variety of STEM careers every time they come to our class.\r\nUsing the Directional Task Cards for Coding & Robotics, my students moved from basic play to intentional programming. Watching them navigate their Beebots through complex paths helped them master logic and spatial reasoning—skills they will take with them into the next grade and beyond.\r\nThe Secret Decoder Wheels were an absolute hit. The ribbons have become a favorite tool for expressing musical qualities—students use them to show changes in tempo, dynamics, articulation, and even mood.\r\n\r\nThe parachute has also added a whole new level of collaboration and listening. Students work together to match the music by lifting, shaking, or swirling the parachute in response to the beat, form, and expressive elements. \r\n\r\nThe vinyl floor spots have made it easy to set up rotating music stations, and the wobble seats and sensory sphere are helping students who need extra movement stay comfortable and engaged. Even the dry pocket sleeves have already become part of our rhythm practice, letting students write and rework patterns, and they're even useful for games like rhythm bingo.\r\n\r\nThey were ecstatic when they first saw the new materials! Many students immediately began experimenting with the ribbons, exploring high, low, fast, and slow movements. When they saw the parachute, the whole class erupted in excitement. Even the quieter items got plenty of enthusiasm once students realized they meant more movement, more stations, and more musical exploration.\r\n\r\nWe'll continue using the ribbons and parachute across multiple units—movement helps students connect to form, rhythm, expressive qualities, and even instrument families in meaningful ways. Coming up, students will rotate through stations where they'll use movement to represent musical ideas, practice rhythms using the dry pocket sleeves, and work in small groups on collaborative listening challenges. The new materials are helping create a music room where every student can move, create, and truly experience music with their whole body.","fullyFundedDate":1755693357542,"projectUrl":"project/every-note-counts-music-for-every-stude/9525946/","projectTitle":"Every Note Counts: Music for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Factor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10107142"},{"teacherId":9985258,"projectId":9689987,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that made it possible for our class to receive new recess equipment!
