They couldn't believe that they had equipment to practice with at school and not just at the bowling alley. They were so excited to use them for PE. They can practice so much more since we have bowling pins/balls and softballs at school. In addition, they are learning new sports with the Javelin throw. They think it's neat! They also love that they don't need to go to the water fountain but can use their new water bottles when they are thirsty. They are also learning more about supporting each other as they are having so much fun using the new equipment.\r\n All of these items are helping them to establish and maintain great sportsmanship! Most importantly creating an environment in which they feel more inclusive in their sports and activities and creating a self purpose for them. They allow my students to use the district WordFlight program, where they can work on text structures and strengthen their vocabulary. This bridge between hearing and seeing words is helping them decode language faster than ever, turning our room into a quiet, focused hub of active readers.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of this new technology for the students is the integrated microphone feature. They are absolutely thrilled to record themselves reading aloud and then play it back to hear their own progress. In the past, reading aloud in front of the class could be intimidating, but now, it feels like a private game where they can \"level up\" their skills. They treat these recordings like mini-podcasts, often beaming with pride when they realize they've mastered a particularly tricky sentence.
