The additional bean bag chair has allowed me to create a cozy corner for the students to use either to chill out or when they're allowed to read after they are done with work. I think the students would love if I had bean bag chairs instead of regular chairs. I may need to start doing a rotation of students each day so they all get the chance to hangout in the cozy corner.\r\n\r\nThe two wobble stools have been another big hit. I will need to get some more of them as well. The only time I haven't allowed students to use them is when we had our beginning of year district testing. I wanted everyone to be on equal ground with their seats because they get used so much each class period on a regular day. I have seen better focus on the students using the wobble stools and less distractions caused by the need for constant movement when in the regular chairs.\r\n\r\nWith the snacks, It is almost time for me to get some more. The students have been so appreciative to have a snack. Most of the snacking has occurred in the first half of the day as some students got to school late and missed the free breakfast. Life happens and the students still deserve food to help power them through their day, regardless of the reason for them being late to school. \r\n\r\nI think the biggest hit for my students are the Spot Emotion Plush Toy Set characters. I have them set out at the back of the classroom, under whiteboard that has our daily target and task information. Students will grab one of the emotions and set it on their desk if they don't feel like verbalizing how they are feeling. This provides me a cue and approach them to check in with them instead of them approaching me. This has allowed trust to be built.\r\n\r\nYour donation to my project has been a game changer for not only myself, but the students in my care. Students not in my classroom or on my caseload also know they can come to me when they need a safe space. Thank you for helping to spark the fire in bringing my dream to reality.","fullyFundedDate":1746786029959,"projectUrl":"project/safe-space-at-mrs-careys-place/9320706/","projectTitle":"Safe Space at Mrs. Carey's Place","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10015100_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y42&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746541140048","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mcms-carey"},{"teacherId":8315262,"projectId":9286963,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Midwest City Middle School Band! Your incredible support has introduced an exciting new world of creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning to our school—and our students are already benefiting in ways that go far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, our students now have the opportunity to explore the world of 3D printing firsthand. For many of them, this is their first experience with this kind of technology, and their excitement has been nothing short of inspiring. As soon as the 3D printer was set up, students began designing their own models and seeing their digital ideas come to life. What once seemed like futuristic technology is now part of their everyday learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has opened up new possibilities across multiple subjects. In science, students are printing custom models of molecules, ecosystems, and prototypes for experiments. In math, they're using it to visualize geometric shapes and explore spatial reasoning. In art, they're designing creative sculptures and learning how to take a concept from imagination to physical form. The potential for cross-curricular learning is endless, and your support has made that a reality.\r\n\r\nEven more importantly, this technology has sparked curiosity and motivation in students who don't always feel connected to traditional classroom content. For some, this hands-on, tech-driven learning style has been a game-changer. We've seen students who are typically quiet in class become leaders during 3D printing sessions, helping others learn the software, troubleshoot designs, and take pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThe filament you provided has given us the freedom to let students experiment, make mistakes, and learn through trial and error—something that is critical in both education and real-world problem-solving. Because of your generosity, our students don't just talk about innovation—they practice it. They now have the chance to dream big, test ideas, and develop valuable STEM skills that will serve them far into the future.\r\n\r\nDonorsChoose, you are not just funding supplies—you are changing lives. This donation has inspired our students to imagine what's possible, and it has empowered our teachers to provide more engaging and relevant instruction. Your platform and the donors who support it continue to be a vital bridge between classrooms and the opportunities students need to thrive.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our school and our mission. Your gift of a 3D printer and filament has truly transformed our learning environment, and we are excited to see where our students' creativity and innovation will take them next.","fullyFundedDate":1715166450579,"projectUrl":"project/new-interest-for-all/8382984/","projectTitle":"New Interest for All","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. D Guthery","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6399762"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86975","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":962,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"25.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.3,"schoolId":86975,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Midwest City Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Midwest City Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/midwest-city-del-city-public-schools/monroney-junior-high-school/86975"}
