Getting a class set of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone would allow my students to improve their literacy while also getting to explore a new world. While this story isn't new to many of my students, quite a few of them may have seen the movie but haven't read the books or even explored the world at all! A lot of my students are in low-income families and getting a new set of books that actually interests them would mean the world to them. This would be a great opportunity to not only improve their literacy, creativity, and Language Arts skills, but to have fun while doing it!
