The snacks are used throughout the school day to help students stay fueled, focused, and ready to learn. When the boxes arrived, my students were so excited to see all of the snacks that had been donated just for them. They loved helping organize them and seeing the different choices.\r\n\r\nHaving snacks available means my students can focus more on learning instead of being distracted by hunger. One of my favorite moments has been seeing how excited they are for snack time and hearing them talk about how kind it was for others to help our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, we are building our reading, writing, and math skills while also working on independence and positive classroom routines. These snacks give my students a much-needed boost during our busy days. The moment the books arrived, my students were filled with excitement and curiosity. They eagerly explored the pages, shared stories with classmates, and could not wait to start reading. For many of my students, having brand-new books made them feel special and valued, and it immediately increased their motivation and enthusiasm for reading.\r\nThese books are helping students build essential early literacy skills such as phonics, sight word recognition, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension. Through these stories, students are learning to identify characters and settings, retell events, and discuss important lessons like kindness, friendship, and perseverance. Reading in our classroom happens in many ways, independent reading, small-group instruction, and interactive read-alouds—and the new books give students more choice, which has made reading more meaningful and engaging for them.\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from these new books. Some of my struggling readers are now confidently picking up books and attempting to read on their own, while others love rereading favorite stories and sharing them with friends. I have also seen students who are usually quiet become excited to talk about the books they enjoy. Because of your generosity, my students now see reading as fun and rewarding, and they are developing a love for books that will last far beyond first grade. Thank you for making this experience possible for my students. 💛📖","fullyFundedDate":1767621899344,"projectUrl":"project/help-mrs-simons-first-graders-grow-thei/9866503/","projectTitle":"Help Mrs. Simons First Graders Grow Their Love for Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Simons","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9581071_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722365612955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581071"},{"teacherId":564884,"projectId":6390808,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations!
