My class was in desperate need of new calculators, as many of them from last year were either lost, stolen, or broken. The calculators that we received from this donation work perfectly for both Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. This is a tool that we use each and everyday in class without fail.\r\n\r\nThe students have been extremely successful in working towards the mastery of 8th grade math skills, in huge part thanks to the assistance they receive from the TI-34 calculators. They are able to check their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts, as to make sure those calculations do not take away from achieving a correct answer to more complicated expressions and equations.\r\n\r\nI can't begin to describe how extremely beneficial these new calculators have been in helping the students in my classes achieve success this school year. They are used extensively on a daily basis, and are incredibly beneficial in helping students achieve their goals. They have learned how to compare and contrast different stories, find problems and solutions in the stories, understand text features and many more things. These books have helped my students be able to find the main idea, work on inferencing, and analyzing the text from the books. \r\nIn my classroom, reading happens daily. It may be reading for fun, reading for an assignment, or the teacher reading to the students at the end of the class period. I believe as a teacher that implementing reading daily is very important for students to foster a love for reading. \r\nAll of my students are loving and enjoying reading the books that were donated to us. I hear all the time in my classroom, \" Mrs. Lamerton, when are we starting a new book?\" They are ready to start another book as soon as they complete the one they are reading.
