The new maps and posters have already sparked great conversations — the kids love pointing out places we're studying and making connections to what they know. The colored pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, and headphones have been so useful for projects and group work, and it's been amazing to see how much more focused and creative the students are with the right tools.\r\n\r\nI'm also really grateful for the things that make our classroom more comfortable and healthy. The air purifier and dehumidifier have made a big difference in keeping the air fresh, and the stool has been such a big help for me during long teaching days. We are about a month into school, and my students have already put your generous donations to good use! The donation of composition notebooks was super helpful with our class notebook setup, and I handed out several notebooks to students who needed them. They have already been gluing notes into their notebook and completing bell work in these notebooks as well. The notebooks served as a great study tool for our first Social Studies test of the school year! \r\n\r\nColored pencils are always needed in my class, and the donation of colored pencils has already been used on the first maps students completed this year! Students completed a world map where they labeled several important geographical features on our planet earth on this assignment. This assignment was also an excellent study tool for students on the first test alongside their class notebooks. I am looking forward to using these colored pencils on our future assignment where students create a cartoon to represent the types of governments we learn about!\r\n\r\nThe Starburst have been a huge hit! Students are always so overwhelmed starting middle school, and they are having to learn all the procedures for their seven different classroom teachers. Being able to reward students who are following Mrs. Koonce's classroom procedures with a Starburst has really helped get students in the habit of how we do things in their Social Studies class. It has also been a wonderful reward for students I have already seen this year go above and beyond to help their classmates.\r\n\r\nWithout your generosity, none of this would have been possible. We have also been able to provide Spanish children's books for students wanting to increase their literacy skills in Spanish. In addition to the helpful resources my students have been able to enjoy, I am blessed by a classroom that moves a little bit smoother and giving me a place to grade, teach, and work much more efficiently.\r\n\r\nOverall, my classroom environment has shifted into a more creative and enjoyable for my students and myself as you have helped me fill it up with many beneficial resources.
