My students were excited and shocked when the library shelves and lamps showed up in my room. It was exciting to see their eyes light up when I explained what we were going to create in our classroom. It was exciting to see students getting excited about books and having a nice welcoming environment to read and try new genres. \r\n\r\nMy students are able to find books of their choice and sit and read to see if they like new genres or types of reading. They are able to sit in a room not blinded by our bright fluorescent lights and that is a huge deal to most of my students. My students are saying that everything seems much calmer and peaceful now in my classroom. I am so excited to continue building onto this project. \r\n\r\nMy next steps for this project are to continue to add more contemporary titles to my library. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase 32 new books for our classic fiction section. The new books will undoubtedly encourage more students to delve into these classic works.\r\n\r\nAs you know, the classics section was under-circulated, largely due to the worn and unattractive condition of many of our older books. Thanks to your kind contributions, we have begun replacing these damaged copies with beautiful new editions.
