I knew it needed to be decorated with warm, calming tones and messages of inclusivity and body positivity. But environment is only part of welcoming. My students now know that they can come to me for anything...and that's because of you. Whether its the uncomfortable 8th grade boy who whispers, \"Miss, do you have any deodorant I can have?\" or the self-conscious girl who comes in shouting, \"Miss, I have holes in the heels of my socks so I can't show my feet today...\", your gifts have made my students feel supported and loved and cared for. I have seen increased participation by approximately 15% since I opened the Dance Lab Care Closet. And while my students don't always say \"thank you\" in words, I'm happy to see it in action.
