Upfront magazine will be used to have class debates and discussions about current national and international topics. Students will also respond to articles in their journals periodically in order to protect their privacy on more polarizing topics. I plan on using these magazines weekly. They will learn to express and support their own opinions (not that of their family and friends) on current events reported on in the magazine. I need a subscription to the magazine for 40 students. These students are high achievers and our school does not have funding for the additional resources that could enable them to soar!
