Thanks to your support, our project funded through the Ohio STEM Learning Network has officially come to life! Your investment has allowed me to build a library of \"Unplugged Centers\" designed to teach critical tech, math, and engineering skills completely screen-free.\r\nHow We Are Using the New Resources\r\nWe are using these resources to build algorithmic thinking, spatial reasoning, and engineering skills through highly engaging, hands-on STEM bins. Because everything is organized into independent shoebox-sized tubs , students can easily dive into deep learning without a lot of complicated setup.\r\nHow the Students Reacted\r\nWhen the materials first arrived and we set up the centers, the reaction was pure excitement! My students are used to screens, so seeing a vibrant bookshelf stacked with tactile tools like magnetic tiles, pop-bubble keyboards, and coding robots sparked instant curiosity.\r\nThere were literal gasps when they realized they were allowed to simply \"build\" and experiment. More than anything, these materials have taught them \"grace\"—the ability to safely make mistakes and realize that some of the best discoveries happen when a prototype fails and they have to try again. Knowing that generous donors chose to fund their classroom made them feel incredibly valued and important.\r\nYour kindness has injected a brilliant wave of energy into our daily learning. Thank you for stepping into our classroom and believing in the potential of my students!\r\nWith deepest gratitude,\r\nRebecca Detmer\r\n1-6 Computer \r\nCarlisle Local School District","fullyFundedDate":1776364790913,"projectUrl":"project/computer-science-unplugged-center-resou/10188020/","projectTitle":"Computer Science Unplugged: Center Resources for Elementary Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Detmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1010137_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775842743786","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1010137"},{"teacherId":3916032,"projectId":9899919,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support of our classroom project!
