In the past, students had to tape together dozens of small pages, often leading to frustration, misalignment, and lost instructional time. Now, while some assembly is still needed, students are working with significantly larger pieces—cutting the taping time nearly in half.\r\n\r\nThis shift has made a real difference. Students spend less time managing paper and more time focusing on what truly matters: understanding fit, improving construction techniques, and building confidence in their sewing skills. The patterns are more accurate, easier to follow, and much closer to what they would see in a professional setting.\r\n\r\nBeyond textiles, these printers are also transforming how students explore interior design and architecture concepts. Students are now able to print larger, more detailed floor plans, giving them a clearer and more realistic view of spatial design. Instead of working from small, hard-to-read drawings, they can better visualize proportions, layout, and flow—just like architects and designers do in the real world.\r\n\r\nThis has strengthened their understanding of scale, measurement, and design planning—skills that directly connect to careers in fashion, interior design, and architecture. Students are thinking more critically, making more precise decisions, and taking greater pride in their final projects.\r\n\r\nYour support has moved our classroom from \"making do\" to working more like real designers. Thank you for helping my students think bigger, create more confidently, and build skills that will carry into their futures.","fullyFundedDate":1771013179546,"projectUrl":"project/from-patterns-to-prints-big-format-lear/9859708/","projectTitle":"From Patterns to Prints: Big Format Learning for Future Designers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chew","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3213886_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y232&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751633967063","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chew"},{"teacherId":2547426,"projectId":10137265,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our library's manga collection. For many of our students, manga is more than just entertainment—it is a gateway into reading. Students who may have struggled to find interest in traditional texts are often immediately drawn to manga's visual storytelling, relatable characters, and engaging plots. It creates an accessible entry point that builds confidence and encourages students to see themselves as readers.\r\n\r\nIn a school as diverse as ours, manga also provides powerful representation and global perspectives. Many of our students see elements of their own identities, cultures, and experiences reflected in these stories, while others are introduced to new ways of thinking and understanding the world. This fosters both connection and empathy among our students.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our library has become an even more welcoming and inclusive space where students are excited to explore books on their own terms. Many of our students come from incredibly diverse backgrounds, including those who are new to this country, and memoirs give them a powerful way to feel seen, understood, and less alone.\r\n\r\nThese books do more than meet a curriculum requirement—they open doors. Students find that there are more people like them than not, and that the successes of the people they read about can ultimately become their successes as well. Memoirs help them build empathy, confidence, and a sense of possibility for their own futures.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our students now have access to stories that reflect who they are and who they can become.
