To begin exploring forces and motion, we are going to have students 3D print uncommon shapes that roll. Students will research, then print their shape, then conduct a race to test the motion of their atypical object. Students will work in teams in their Physical Science class to explore concepts related to motion. After investigating these concepts, students will have to use software to design a shape that is not round that will still roll. Students will conduct an end of unit race to celebrate the culmination of their investigation. Student teams will be awarded based on creativity, performance, work ethic, use of engineering concepts, etc.
