My students have enjoyed exploring, creating, and solving problems through play. With a classroom full of mostly boys, the science center got a lot of use this year. They enjoyed using the magnets and sticking them to things all around the classroom, learning what was magnetic and what wasn't. The Tetris puzzles was a big hit. There were so many ways to solve the puzzles, it kept the students interested and engaged. They were persistent with trying to figure out how to fit all the pieces correctly. This was such a great project. My students were so excited when they received the new classroom materials. It was like Christmas for them. They couldn't wait to have them in the room. The dramatic play people were a big hit. The students enjoy using them to role play. They were very popular during our buildings and recycling unit. I enjoyed watching their little imaginations go. the magnatile set opended up a whole new world of building. Some of the creations they were able to make was out of this world. We also used the magnatiles to sort by color. And I wrote on them to do math or literacy activities. This helped them socialize and problem-solve to make sure that they would not break or fall.
