Each day numerous students get to complete assignments in their comfy seating using the lap desks. We are using the bean bag chairs, lap desks, rug, and headphones through out our school day. Students get to choose to enjoy a good book, complete an independent task, or complete an online activity in this fun and cozy area.\r\nLet me describe the wonderful impact this donation is providing for my students. Our classroom has standard school desks with hard chairs. My students are in this classroom for the majority of 8 hours each school day. These desks don't allow for movement, stretching, collaboration, or fun. Having the bean bag chairs, lap desks, and cute rug gives my students a feeling of \"home\". Our area looks like a cozy area a student may have in their home, where they study, read, or simply take a break. My students can easily move their bean bags into a circle so that they can talk and work collaboratively together. Since setting up this area, I have seen so many smiles on my students' faces. They are using this area for all subjects including reading and math. We also have a mandated online math and reading program that each student has to complete lessons in each day. My students love taking their computers to this area and relaxing while they complete their assignments in the cozy chairs.
