My students come to be from a variety of different exceptional backgrounds. From Attention Deficient Disorders, Processing Disorders in both Reading and Math, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Autism; my children need a variety of different tools to be successful such as wobble chairs, balance balls, cushions, and sensory manipulatives.
I have always felt that learning through movement in the classroom is an avenue for my students. Utilizing wobble chairs and balance balls while focusing on their strengths gives them a means to move which allows for learning to blossom. My students need these tools since traditional classroom environments are not shown and proven to be the most beneficial.
I also have sensory issues in my classroom. By having the sensory manipulatives available and in a child's hands will allow them to work and learn while giving them an outlet for need for movement and tactile needs.
I truly feel that these products will create a learning environment for my students where they can be themselves and embrace their uniqueness.
