The refrigerator that was purchased has opened the doors for my students to experience many cooking experiences. \r\nNow that we can store perishable items, the students have learned to cook a variety of foods that they may never have eaten before. After we cook the foods, the recipe is then sent home. With the help of the parents, the students can cook the foods again for their families. This has been a great experience for the students and they are excited to see what 2nd Semester will bring.\r\nAgain, thank you for your help to make this happen for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1755910822950,"projectUrl":"project/cooking-to-learn/9604405/","projectTitle":"Cooking to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cumberworth","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5833966"},{"teacherId":8441763,"projectId":9668502,"letterContent":"We are deeply grateful for your generosity and belief in the potential of every student. Your support is helping us bring to life a project that empowers high school students with special needs to develop essential daily living and vocational skills—tools that will support their independence and future success.\r\n\r\nWhile project items were arriving, the students were so excited to get started in the kitchen! Students have gained hands-on experience preparing meals, practicing kitchen safety, and completing everyday tasks such as laundry. These activities go far beyond the classroom: they teach responsibility, problem-solving, and confidence. With the resources you've helped provide, our students can learn in a safe, engaging, and real-world environment.\r\n\r\nYour contribution directly fuels these experiences. Because of you, our students are not only learning how to solve real-life math problems—they're gaining the independence to apply these lessons in everyday life and future workplaces. We are also creating a school culture that is accepting of everyone!\r\n\r\nEvery meal prepared, every transaction completed, and every smile exchanged is a step toward greater independence. Your generosity is what makes this possible.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their journey toward confident, capable adulthood. One of their absolute favorites was the Van de Graaff generator, it sparked so much curiosity (literally and figuratively)! Even after the unit ended, students kept asking to experiment with it and find new ways to generate and transfer electricity.\r\n\r\nWe also completed a project where students designed and wired model houses. They got to plan out rooms, add lights, and apply what they'd learned about circuits in a real, tangible way. One student told me that she had so much fun designing and wiring her room that she's now thinking about becoming an electrician like her dad. That moment really showed me how powerful this project was.\r\n\r\nIt was such a hit that I plan to continue using and expanding this project each year!","fullyFundedDate":1744032771640,"projectUrl":"project/lighting-up-learning/9210255/","projectTitle":"Lighting Up Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Litwiller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9978857"},{"teacherId":9968460,"projectId":9178366,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution of tampons, pads, and deodorant. These essential supplies have made a real difference for my students by helping them feel more comfortable and confident throughout the school day.
