These books were chosen to highlight folks of a variety of backgrounds overcoming challenges and obstacles, who went on to achieve greatness! By opening the door to historical figures who beat the odds, you are inspiring my students to do the same. \r\n\r\nWatching this group of readers bloom has been the biggest blessing. They are more confident, more curious, and more determined than ever to become better readers! They are interested in history and the how's and why's behind historical events. They enjoy school! The resources from this project allowed students to examine the tiniest details in nature with magnifying glasses, complete leaf rubbings, paint evergreen trees with watercolors, read poetry about animals, and so much more. \r\n\r\nThe nonconsumable resources (set of magnifying glasses and the poetry book) are wonderful additions to my 4th grade classroom.
