Appropriately, your generosity had no small impact on our classroom. The money donated became a truly staggering number of boxes of novels that students have flocked to with excitement. The kids have told me again and again that they were excited to read something that you helped to provide, but it had been out of stock at the library. I have one student who had been waiting since the start of the school year to read the second book in the very popular \"Good Girl's Guide to Murder\" series, but always missed it at the library. Another realized he finally had a good excuse to read the whole Hunger Games series to catch up with his friends who are reading the new book. \r\n\r\nWe start every day with 14 minutes of reading, and many students tell me it's the only time they have to read for pleasure. Even when you set aside phones and social media, teenagers these days are BUSY. Academic, athletic, extracurricular and often spiritual commitments all compete for their time. We know the joy and peace of a good book, but carving time out for it in the real world is hard. \r\n\r\nHaving high-interest books readily available in the classroom removes a major barrier. There's no longer the worry of, \"What if I finish this and can't find something else I like?\" Students can simply finish one book and move on to the next—no stress, no extra hurdles. Removing those barriers is one of the most effective ways to support reading and literacy, and your donation has done exactly that. Thank you again for your generosity and interest in your community classrooms.","fullyFundedDate":1770767781924,"projectUrl":"project/high-interest-high-engagement-high-l/10067373/","projectTitle":"High Interest + High Engagement = High Literacy!","teacherDisplayName":"Mx.
