Games in the classroom can be powerful. First off, they are FUN! But they have an underlying benefit-players have to solve a problem; an essential skill needed for today and tomorrow. Games are also suited to serve this current generation of learners who are growing up in an increasingly interactive environment. They become motivation to participate. From the teacher perspective they are fantastic for learning and assessment as well as for data tracking and increasing student achievement. I would like to use the buzzer system as another way to create a learning environment where ALL students are motivated, participating and learning their strengths and weaknesses in content.
