The adaptive basketball hoop you helped fund has given one of our youngest students the chance to play, laugh, and connect with classmates during recess in ways that were not possible before. Every day, this student's smile shines a little brighter as they join in games of basketball with friends—no longer watching from the sidelines, but being part of the fun.\r\n\r\nYour support has created more than just a piece of equipment; you've helped build confidence, friendship, and belonging. The adaptive hoop allows for safe and accessible play, giving this child the freedom to practice coordination, teamwork, and communication—all while having a great time with peers. Moments that used to feel out of reach are now filled with laughter, movement, and shared joy on the playground.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, every student in this class is learning the power of inclusion and the importance of making sure everyone can play together. You have made a lasting difference in one child's life and in our entire school community. Thank you for helping create a space where every child can experience the pure happiness of play.","fullyFundedDate":1756240884479,"projectUrl":"project/basketball-hoop-for-all-abilities/9623795/","projectTitle":"Basketball Hoop for ALL Abilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mary","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9551144_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727223090856","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9551144"},{"teacherId":9742960,"projectId":8764216,"letterContent":"We are currently using the \"mud kitchen\" for our indoor dramatic play center. The blocks are used for sensory water play in our water table. The ball is used for indoor gross motor or if a child needs a break/ help focusing. Lastly, we use the hopscotch set for indoor and outdoor gross motor. The flexibility of the hopscotch set allows it to be changed in multiple ways! \r\n\r\n The students were excited, asking what is that for, what is in the box, is that stuff for us. We got to open all of the toys in the classroom minus the mud kitchen which needed to be assembled. We got to use all the toys as soon as they were delivered. The children love all of the toys and the fact we can use them indoors and outdoors.\r\n\r\n We just started our building unit in our curriculum. We do a new study about every six weeks. The floating block sets were a great addition to adding to this study. The hopscotch set can be built in many ways and can be used indoors and outdoors. These are all open-ended materials which can be used in a creative variety of ways to help promote gross motor, imaginative play, math, physical and cognitive learning.","fullyFundedDate":1733255581509,"projectUrl":"project/playground-plalooza/8764216/","projectTitle":"Playground Plalooza","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hunter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9742960_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753925020976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9742960"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3083","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":324,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.0,"schoolId":3083,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nebo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nebo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/mcdowell-county-school-district-580/nebo-elementary-school/3083"}
