In our classroom, reading is a daily priority, and having access to a wide variety of high-interest, engaging books helps students build both their skills and their love of reading. These new books allow students to practice important literacy skills like fluency, comprehension, and identifying the central message of a text in a meaningful and enjoyable way.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for my students is the opportunity to choose from fresh, appealing books that reflect their interests and experiences. There is a noticeable buzz during independent reading time now—students are eager to explore new genres, discover favorite authors, and share recommendations with one another. Having updated books has made reading feel more relevant and exciting, which has increased both engagement and stamina.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously reluctant readers have especially benefited from these new additions. I've seen students who struggled to find books they connected with now eagerly picking up stories and staying focused for longer periods of time. These books have helped build confidence, especially for students who need more support, by giving them access to texts that are both accessible and interesting. Overall, this donation has helped foster a stronger reading community in our classroom and has inspired a genuine love of reading that will continue to grow.","fullyFundedDate":1767048648059,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-love-of-reading-in-our-classr/9816840/","projectTitle":"Building a Love of Reading in Our Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Greene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5558471_orig.jpg?crop=2705,2705,x0,y468&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689642522032","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5558471"},{"teacherId":5558471,"projectId":9836780,"letterContent":"The headphones donated to our classroom have made a meaningful difference in how my students learn each day. Students enjoy building structures, experimenting with designs, and working together to share ideas and strategies.\r\n\r\nThe new puzzles have been especially impactful. Many of our older puzzles were missing pieces, so students were excited to receive complete sets. They spread the pieces out on the floor, use the picture on the box as a reference, and collaborate with peers and our teaching assistant to complete each puzzle. These activities encourage communication, teamwork, and perseverance as students work toward a common goal.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase markers and erasers have also enhanced instruction by allowing students to create, revise, and explain their thinking during small-group lessons.
