In our Adobe Academy program at Robbinsville High School, student spend a lot of time working on computers while learning video editing, graphic design, and other creative skills. The games have given them a chance to step away from screens, reset their minds, and connect with each other in a meaningful way. One of my favorite moment so far has been watching students who normally stay quiet, laugh and work as a team with classmates. It will help build stronger relationships in my classroom moving forward.\r\n\r\nWhen the games arrived, the students were so excited. Many wanted to play them right away. Several of my students spoke about not having access to many games at home, so this felt special to them. In our rural community, resources like this are not always easy to provide, which made your generosity even more meaningful. The students truly felt supported and cared about.\r\n\r\nI look forward to using these resources many years in the future to offer brain breaks to students after difficult units or testing, as well as using them for collaborative working and building relationships with their peers. Your support means so much to all of us.","fullyFundedDate":1778611106875,"projectUrl":"project/games-for-brain-breaks-even-high-sch/10206768/","projectTitle":"Games! For Brain Breaks! This new camera has made a tremendous difference in how my students learn and engage with digital media. Many of our students are gaining hands-on experience with professional equipment and it is helping them understand the full process of visual storytelling. This camera allows students to apply creative concepts we discuss in class in a real, tangible way, bridging the gap between technology and artistic expression.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been the opportunity to create their own projects using tools that mirror what is used in the industry. They are inspired and motivated by the ability to capture their own content rather than relying on stock images. This allows for more sense of ownership over their projects in class.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who would get bored with using google to search for images to edit, are now more engaged now that they have more functioning cameras to practice with. For students in low-income schools, like ours, access to technology opens the door to new career paths and dreams they hadn't imagined before. Your generosity has truly sparked creativity and opportunity in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758914347064,"projectUrl":"project/adobe-academy-visualvideo/9438459/","projectTitle":"Adobe Academy (Visual/Video)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Millsaps","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9721047_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725143165889","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9721047"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2742","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":333,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":18,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"10.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":63.9,"schoolId":2742,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Robbinsville High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Robbinsville High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/graham-county-school-district/robbinsville-high-school/2742"}
