The students have created mazes for their friends to follow with fun little surprises. The students had such a great time working together to create. They get to see how a code they draw with a marker translates to a movement of the little robot. \r\n\r\nWe compare it to how some rides in amusement parks are now set to follow a path through a building. It is all connected based on sensors and coding language. It surprises students how little things can make huge things. \r\n\r\nAs a computer teacher, I love to see their faces light up when I pull out the ozobots and other little robots. They are learning while they play. Then I get to introduce them to careers where they could work but also play. The students have really enjoyed using the Indi Sphero Cars. The students are learning how coding works by the order of the colored squares. The request to use them most days they come to my classroom. \r\n\r\nMy favorite part was the way their face lit up when I showed them how it worked. We took these items to an expo to show what we have been doing in class. My first and fifth graders present their maps to the people who came by. It was neat to watch them explain how they work and show it off. We even had several blind students that were able to feel the car as it moved.
