The resources you funded—the NumberBlocks Plush Pals, Builder Sets, Blockzee Balance, and Pop It Frames—have completely transformed our math block.Hands-On Learning in Action We are using the new resources every single day, integrating them into our centers and small group instruction. A specific, unforgettable moment happened last week when we were exploring the concept of number composition (finding different ways to make a number). Using the NumberBlocks Builder Sets, students were able to physically break apart and combine blocks to show that 5 can be made with 4+1 or 3+2. I then brought out the Blockzee Balance, and the students cheered as they realized that if they put a \"5\" block on one side and a \"4\" and \"1\" block on the other, the scale balanced! This concrete, tactile demonstration of equality was a major breakthrough. For many students who previously struggled with abstract equations, this hands-on, multi-sensory approach created an immediate \"aha!\" moment. It wasn't just counting anymore; it was building understanding.Student Reactions and Next StepsThe students' reaction when they first saw the boxes was pure excitement! When they realized the contents were the familiar, friendly faces of the NumberBlocks characters, there were gasps and immediate requests to touch and play. Their engagement has not waned; they now rush to the math center, eager to choose which resource they will use. The Pop It Frames are a huge hit, turning routine ten-frame practice into a fun, rewarding activity.Looking ahead, the success of this project is fueling our next unit on early addition and subtraction. We are currently using the large magnetic ten-frames to model simple equations, and the Plush Pals are helping us tell number stories. Our next steps involve transitioning from physical modeling to drawing and then writing the equations. Thanks to the strong foundational number sense built with your tools, the students are making this shift much faster and with greater confidence than I've ever seen before. Your contribution has empowered them not only to learn math but to genuinely enjoy it.Thank you for being such an essential partner in my students' education.","fullyFundedDate":1760025470018,"projectUrl":"project/balance-build-and-believe-hands-on-ma/9793855/","projectTitle":"Balance, Build, and Believe: Hands-On Math With NumberBlocks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wooten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5991991_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1540001826953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/tiwooten"},{"teacherId":5991991,"projectId":9788226,"letterContent":"I am delighted to update you on how your generosity is already transforming our classroom environment! The sensory resources you funded—the stress balls, squishy fidgets, bubble timers, and bubble poppers—are being used daily to help my students manage anxiety and maintain focus, allowing their natural curiosity and resilience to shine.\r\n\r\nSensory Tools in Action\r\nWe are using the new resources as essential tools for self-regulation during our most challenging activities. A specific, wonderful moment occurred during independent reading time. For one student who struggles with focusing and tends to fidget disruptively, I offered a squishy fidget and placed a bubble timer nearby. The combination of gentle tactile input and the mesmerizing, slow fall of the bubbles provided just the right amount of sensory input. Instead of getting up repeatedly, the student remained seated, quietly engaged with their book for the entire 20-minute block—a significant accomplishment! These tools have fundamentally changed my teaching approach, allowing me to proactively support individual needs and foster a calm, inclusive atmosphere where every student can access the curriculum.\r\n\r\nExcitement and Next Steps\r\nThe students' reactions when the materials arrived were pure joy and relief. They instantly recognized them as helpful tools, not just toys. The stress balls and fidgets were immediately put to use as \"quiet hands\" during listening activities, and the bubble poppers quickly became popular for blending fine motor practice with math skills, using them to model ten frames and basic counting. The next steps for our classroom involve officially integrating these tools into our \"Calm Corner\" and teaching more explicit, class-wide lessons on mindfulness and emotional literacy using the bubble timers as a cue for deep breathing exercises. We are working toward making self-regulation an independent skill, and these resources are the foundation of that progress, ensuring that every curious and creative student feels supported, engaged, and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1759704696183,"projectUrl":"project/calm-focus-and-thrive-sensory-tools-f/9788226/","projectTitle":"Calm, Focus, and Thrive: Sensory Tools for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wooten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5991991_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1540001826953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/tiwooten"},{"teacherId":5991991,"projectId":9460766,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our classroom project!
