All of my students learn in different ways, they each struggle with different things as well. My students want to learn and they strive to do their very best at everything they do. In first grade, we have a block called"pow-wow". During "pow wow" we pull students to do interventions with those who are struggling. I would love to use the Osmo during that time for other students to work with while I pull students one on one.
Osmo is a great resource for my students to use to help them better understand and grasp their sounds, spelling, words and math standards. For word work, the Osmo shows students a picture and they will have to sound out the words and take tiles to spell out the word. This will allow them to expand their vocabulary past first grade. It will also allow them to practice their sounds. As far as math goes, students will be able to work on different areas that they may be struggling with or even areas where they need enrichment.
My students would work well with Osmos and enjoy them while also learning and staying on task. They would be able to control them themselves by using the iPads, headphones, and Osmo kit that goes with each iPad. Students would be able to learn and explore as well as share with me what they are able to do.
