With your generous gift, I was able to sort all early chapter book series, all novel series with large sets, sports, popular nonfiction, and sub-sets of folk tales, into bins so that readers can find them easier. Although it was the end of the year and students could not check out from them yet, students were noticing the changes and were very excited to get to use them next year. Additionally, our volunteers who shelve books commented on how much easier it was for them to shelve, which means that in turn, it will be so much easier for students to find desired reading materials. \r\nStudents also commented that they were seeing books and topics that they didn't know our library even had! Though I teach students about what our library carries and we have many lessons about all of the different genres and sub-genres, being able to see them facing out is a game changer! In addition to their excitement, I am thrilled because our shelves look so much more inviting and browsable. I know that this project is going to have huge impacts on our students' reading and mindset about libraries!\r\nThank you again for your generous donation!","fullyFundedDate":1774554245910,"projectUrl":"project/clear-bins-clear-paths-to-reading/10136745/","projectTitle":"Clear Bins, Clear Paths to Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Boger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2262330_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772997519387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lboger"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1634","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":728,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.5,"schoolId":1634,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Matthews Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Matthews Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/charlotte-mecklenburg-school-district/matthews-elementary-school/1634"}
