Because of your generosity, our students now have access to a welcoming and calming environment filled with sensory tools, calm seating, weighted plushies, mindfulness resources, a soft rug, and a dedicated space where they can reset and refocus when emotions become overwhelming.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were immediately drawn to the space. Many were excited to explore the beanbag chairs, weighted plushies, and calming tools. One of the most meaningful moments occurred when a student who was feeling frustrated and dysregulated chose to use the Fox Den instead of acting out. After spending a few minutes practicing breathing strategies with our sensory tools and relaxing in the calming space, the student was able to return to class feeling calm, confident, and ready to learn. Moments like this remind us how important it is to provide students with healthy coping strategies and supportive environments.\r\n\r\nThe Fox Den has quickly become an essential part of our behavior support program. Students are learning how to identify their emotions, use self-regulation tools, participate in restorative conversations, and develop lifelong coping skills. As we move forward, we will continue using these resources to teach emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and mindfulness strategies that help students be successful both in and out of the classroom.
