Students needed hands on materials, and the technology to create those materials in ways that can be shared in the classroom and kept as ongoing class resources. My students need many visuals and supports to be able to understand questions, concepts and sentences when discussing kind and unkind behaviors. We were able to use the color printer to print necessary color Anchor charts to review and discuss ways to be polite, considerate of others and to be kind. These charts allowed for further discussions of their own behavior and how they treat one another. Often, they are not even aware of ways they may be unkind to others within speech and language therapy sessions. Each student has needs and many of the needs vary greatly from one student to the next right within our therapy room. Use of these colorful Anchor charts, printed with the color printer and laminated with the laminator you so graciously and generously donated made for wonderful visual supports for the lessons on kindness within our speech and language students. Further, we were able to print out additional interactive workbooks for each student, to support their understanding of the concepts were are learning about. The colorful markers provided allowed the students the pleasure of using new tools to illustrate and create beautiful pictures related to kindness. Having individually printed materials for each student to be able to bring home to share with their family will support the continued discussion of these very important concepts. The technology used and the materials provided as a result allowed the students hands-on, interactive materials to explore and discuss ways to be kind to their friends, classmates and others. Many of my students can not fully express in sentences their thoughts and ideas. Printed visual materials, including anchor charts and booklets provided the appropriate models and visual supports needed for them to express their thoughts and make contributions on the subject.","fullyFundedDate":1770843664306,"projectUrl":"project/speech-skills-spreading-kindness/10075143/","projectTitle":"Speech Skills Spreading Kindness","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hecht","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5359922_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715514034020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5359922"},{"teacherId":9266193,"projectId":10068113,"letterContent":"When the items I requested arrived during indoor recess-time some of the students were in my office. This was my first attempt at trying Donors Choose and I never thought is would go so smoothly and be such a wonderful benefit to the children I care so much for. As the School Nurse I'm tasked with taking care of students when they have bathroom accidents and with this age group, PreK and Kindergarten, it is a frequent task. By the middle of the school year I had nothing left in my closet for such emergencies and had resorted to buying clothes myself. I can't begin to tell you the relief and comfort I see in the children when an accident occurs and I say \"no worries! I have the perfect thing for you to change into.\" \r\n School isn't just about academics, especially at age 4 and 5. Children are learning to exist somewhere other than home with Mom and Dad.
