The document camera will provide my students with a chance to see what is being presented in the classroom while we still adhere to the social distancing protocols. In a typical year, my class is gathered closely on a carpet area as I demonstrate skills such as counting, reading, and writing. On a daily basis, my students are also given a chance to demonstrate their skills by sharing their work with the class. This has been a challenge this year since we must remain safely distanced from one another. "I can't see" is often heard by the students. The document camera will allow me and my students to display our work on the Smartboard to give everyone a better view. I can model the skills necessary for reading and math during my guided practice on the board knowing everyone can see. My students will get an opportunity to place their pictures and writing under the camera as they point, talk and share their hard work with all. The bags will provide a place for them to store their personal manipulatives for them to use since we can no longer share materials.
