My students were excited to see what was in the boxes and made guesses to what clothing items where in them.\r\n\r\nSince school began, we have had to access the items (shirts & underwear) that we received for our wardrobe. These items might seem trivial but are essential. Knowing that this clothing is available in the event of an accident is reassuring to some students. My students understood that when they came into the classroom that they would always have access to food, water and snacks when ever they wanted or needed it. Knowing that they could have something to not only access in school but something they could also take home played a positive impact on addressing food insecurities but also on their educational growth because they did not have to focus on if they would have access to something they could eat.
