Many of the books also spark meaningful conversations around emotions, resilience, kindness, and problem-solving, which beautifully supports our social-emotional learning as well.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an interactive and joyful experience. Students gather together for read-alouds, partner discussions, and small-group conversations where they are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions, and share their ideas. Sometimes reading looks calm and reflective, with students curled up independently enjoying a story, and other times it looks energetic and collaborative as students act out scenes, discuss characters, or connect the stories to their own lives. Our goal is to create an environment where students feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn through books.\r\n\r\nSeveral students in particular have truly blossomed through these new texts. Some of my more hesitant readers are beginning to participate more confidently because they finally found stories they can relate to and enjoy. One student who often struggled to stay focused during reading time now eagerly raises their hand to share predictions and thoughts about characters. Another student who previously lacked confidence in reading has started asking to take books home and proudly reads aloud during class discussions. Watching students light up when they connect with a story has been one of the most rewarding parts of bringing these books into our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese books have become so much more than classroom materials — they have become tools for connection, growth, confidence, and joy.
