"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn". Our literacy class for PreK through 5th grade takes place in the school library, a space designed to spark curiosity and a love of reading. Students engage in age-appropriate activities that build foundational skills—such as phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension—while also exploring stories that promote creativity and critical thinking. The library setting provides a welcoming environment where children can gather on rugs for read-alouds, participate in small group discussions, and independently explore books that match their interests and reading levels. By combining structured literacy instruction with the joy of discovery, this class helps students grow as confident, lifelong readers.
