They were shocked to see how many new racecars, fidgets, and reward tickets we got! They love that they are able to use the cars for learning while also playing with their friends during Fun Friday! They are so motivated to earn tickets and anxiously await to see which color they get and pick out their reward each week. We know our next project will have to be more prizes for our prize box! \r\n\r\nUsing the cars and pop its have supported our students as they grow into more confident readers. Using the cars and pop its have made our lessons engaging, hands-on and more meaningful. Because of the pop its, students are able to hear and \"see\" all of the sounds as they are writing and reading. The racecars have helped us to read smoothly and continuously in order to retain more words and read words automatically. The bins that were purchased for this project have kept the STEM room organized and ready to receive students . The markers have been used to create the coding mats and these materials supported an after school coding club! My students were so excited to see and use these materials when it came time to code. The themes for the coding mat were so creative! The unifix cubes have been used to teach young learners about counting and stacking (important engineering skills), the chain reaction set has been used by by older learners during center time and the base 10 blocks have become an important part of teaching students how STEM is math!
