My goal for this school year is for my students to love to read. Living in a world surrounded by technology, students have forgotten the joy of starting and finishing a book or learning something new and exciting. It is my goal as a second-grade teacher and literacy specialist to encourage my students to love reading, meet new people, and travel to new places In the comfort of their seats. Students will practice their reading stamina, build their own knowledge about different topics, and teach one another new perspectives. Reading fiction and nonfiction books, discuss what they have read, and learn from one another will not only spark their love of learning but their love for reading too.
