With COVID precautions, students now need to sit at individual desks for the majority of the day. However, developmentally third graders are still in ample need to move around to help them focus and learn. The wiggle seats will provide students opportunities with sensory input to help them sustain longer durations in their seats than they were accustomed to previously, improved attention, comfort, and the ability to take their seats with them for outdoor learning. Since we are not able to move desks in the classroom to maintain social distance, we are hoping to take our learning outdoors as much as possible this year so that we can have small group instruction to support our neurodiverse learners as best and safest as possible.
