We gather there each morning to greet one another, discuss our plans for the day, and build our classroom community. We use this special space for read-alouds, phonics and literacy lessons, math activities, songs, movement, classroom discussions, and hands-on learning. The rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom—a place where curiosity and excitement come alive.\r\n\r\nBeyond its practical use, your gift has helped create an environment where children feel that their learning matters. Sitting together on the rug gives students opportunities to listen to one another, participate in conversations, ask questions, and celebrate each other's ideas. It provides a comfortable space for collaboration and helps our young learners develop important social and academic skills.\r\n\r\nPerhaps most importantly, your generosity sends a meaningful message to our students: their education is valued, and there are people who believe in them and want to help them succeed. Laminating pouches, ink, dry erase markers, and manipulatives were all a huge help in executing our math curriculum--Illustrative math. With 20 students, we often need 100 printed sheets for a single lesson, so having the ink and the laminating sheets to help preserve them for next year has been so essential. The math puzzle and sum blocks added an extra hands-on supplement to get the kids even more engaged!
