Instead of walking back and forth to a fixed desk on the other side of the room to pull up digital resources or grab materials, everything remained right at my fingertips. This saved valuable transition time and allowed me to keep my full attention on supporting the students.\r\n\r\nFirst Impressions\r\n\r\nWhen the desk first arrived and was assembled, the students were instantly curious and excited. Their eyes lit up when they realized it had wheels! They immediately noticed how much extra floor space opened up in our classroom once my bulky traditional setup was streamlined. Several students commented on how \"cool\" and modern the room looked, and they loved seeing me move around the room so easily while we worked together.\r\n\r\nNext Steps\r\n\r\nWith our teacher materials organized and our floor space maximized, our students are diving into a multi-week collaborative research project. The extra open area in the room now serves as a dedicated hub for students to spread out with poster boards, books, and group work materials. During one session, a nonverbal student independently used a picture symbol to request a preferred activity instead of becoming frustrated. The colorful visuals and hands-on activities immediately captured their attention and helped them remain engaged for longer periods.
