The adjustable hurdles allow athletes of all skill levels to safely work on stride mechanics, rhythm, and mobility by easily customizing the height from 21 to 36 inches. The carpeted long jump mat, measuring wheel, and long tape measures give us the exact tools we need to set up reliable, repeatable jumping runways and measure training distances quickly and accurately. The document cameras are currently shared among six teachers in 30 classrooms, reaching a wide range of students each week. The writing process can be abstract and daunting for students, but with document cameras, it becomes something they can see, discuss, and actively participate in within their classroom community.\r\n\r\nA document camera is a classroom tool that functions like a live projector for physical materials. It captures whatever is placed under it—such as a piece of writing—and displays it instantly on a screen, such as a Promethean smartboard or a projector.\r\n\r\nWith these document cameras, teachers project students' handwritten work (outlines, notes, paragraphs, essays, compositions) onto our classroom Promethean boards, enabling students to read, analyze, and respond to one another's work in real time. This is especially impactful because most of our classrooms lack computers for every student. Document cameras have transformed writing from an isolated task into a collaborative learning experience.\r\n\r\nStudents are now:\r\n\r\n>> Annotating complex texts together as a class\r\n>> Engaging in immediate, constructive peer feedback\r\n>> Actively participating in revision and editing discussions\r\n>> Gaining a clearer understanding of what strong writing looks like across disciplines\r\n\r\nPerhaps the most significant shift is that students are beginning to view writing as a process they can navigate successfully. By watching drafts evolve in real time—through modeling, feedback, and revision—they are building their skills and confidence. Document cameras are especially helpful for visual learners who need to see the writing in front of them rather than just listen to a classmate read aloud. They also help teachers differentiate instruction and address the individual needs of students and groups who require targeted reading and writing instruction.\r\n\r\nYour support is also helping us build more equitable learning communities. Our students, regardless of their starting point, can now access clear models and shared experiences that make writing expectations visible and attainable. This support is also valuable as students prepare for New York State English Language Arts assessments, Advanced Placement coursework and exams, and college-level writing.\r\n\r\nAs an instructional leader collaborating with colleagues across classrooms, I have seen firsthand how your investment is strengthening literacy instruction on a broader scale. You are not only supporting individual students—you are empowering entire classrooms of learners and teachers.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, writing instruction is no longer something students are merely told about—it is something they can see, practice, and truly understand in their classrooms.\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for making this transformation possible.","fullyFundedDate":1769588808536,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-become-stronger-writers/10022342/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Become Stronger Writers (Grades 6–12)","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Frontany","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2374330"},{"teacherId":9998056,"projectId":9253952,"letterContent":"I'm writing to thank you once again for your generous donation to help me purchase scientific calculators for my Geometry students.
