The AP Human Geography has a less than 50% passing rate. The arduous exam tests students on their knowledge of population, migration, language, religion, ethnicity, politics, economics, agriculture, and urban developments. In order to succeed on the exam students must be able to apply course concepts to historical and current events (especially on the written portion of the test). Last year we were able to achieve above national average, and this year we are reaching for even higher scores. For the past two years I have searched for suitable current event articles online and have often found myself ending up on the Upfront page wishing I could have access to this great resource as it highlights many of the concepts covered in my course at an accessible reading level. Additionally, I will use the historical articles from the magazine (The New York Times Upfront) in my US History class. Your donation could help over 150 students in central Brooklyn reach their potential. Thank you for your help!
