Having a color printer has opened up so many possibilities in curating the space and creating thoughtful, eye catching designs. I've had so many ideas and inspirations for how to decorate the space, create interactive displays and showcase what goes on in the library. I've been able to create a 'Books of the Month' bulletin board display with vibrant photos of book covers to encourage new book checkouts while also advertise the school library website for students to access. Every month, we switch out the book covers, and my student volunteers like to collect the printed book covers to decorate their lockers, their rooms and create collages of their favorite books. Also, watching students find a book and ask to find it or voyage to look for it themselves is such a heartwarming experience. Sincerely, thank you so much for bringing this much needed project to life!","fullyFundedDate":1758898894774,"projectUrl":"project/color-me-this-printing-in-the-library/9404786/","projectTitle":"Color Me This: Printing in the Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Abdallah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9307364_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1703083090423","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mslibrarian"},{"teacherId":9307364,"projectId":9058940,"letterContent":"Thank you for believing in the power of reading and providing new titles to my students. I've been fortunate to see how a culture of reading has evolved in this library and with each new year comes a new generation of students who are entering a space that is constantly changing. Providing new books and filling the gap in the collection has been a fruitful endeavor, and these books have added to that journey. I've been able to process and add these books to displays aimed at promoting student autonomy and freedom in choice of what they wish to read without the need for it to be strictly for school. My students love to read and always crave new and interesting titles. With your support, they can meet new characters and appreciate new authors!","fullyFundedDate":1746786285132,"projectUrl":"project/hear-ye-hear-ye-new-books-in-the-libra/9058940/","projectTitle":"Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Having a reliable device to conduct important duties in the library has been so profound. Right now, I type this letter from the laptop you so generously funded. I've been able to easily and efficiently checkout books to students, design flyers and posters for library book displays and create bulletin boards. Students are happy and thankful to have a specially designated device for the library, as am I. I will continue to use this laptop for many years to come to write emails and provide ample support to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1746785727912,"projectUrl":"project/keep-the-library-going/9091304/","projectTitle":"Keep the Library Going","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Abdallah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9307364_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1703083090423","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mslibrarian"},{"teacherId":9307364,"projectId":8919144,"letterContent":"In my library, students have the freedom to read what they want, when they want. Student autonomy and the freedom to read are important foundations for the culture I want to create in this space and having material easily available is one way I promote the reading culture. Book displays are an impactful way of promotion of material in the library and seeing students gravitate to the books I have on display is such a wonderful feeling. Graphic novels are well loved by students and growing this part of the collection has been a joyous experience, albeit a challenging one due to budget constraints. Thanks to your joyous contribution, this project funded 14 brand new graphic novel books for our collection and students have been reading and checking out these books! \r\n\r\nI have one high school student who especially loves to read, and has eagerly been waiting for new titles to arrive, who immediately gravitated towards the book display I had set up to check out two graphic novels. She especially enjoyed \"Four Eyes\" by Rex Ogle and \"Invisible\" by Christina Diaz Gonzalez as she identified with characters in both books and could see herself represented in the plot as well. On another occasion, when I had a middle school class visit the library, one student was engrossed in \"Four Eyes\" and was easily able to summarize the events he had read thus far when I inquired on his book, commenting how he was really enjoying the book's plot and characters. \r\n\r\nMy goal moving forward is to continue promoting books that represent students struggles and challenges navigating friendships as they grow older and meet new people. While promoting diversity and representation, I hope the library will serve as a safe space for students to learn more about themselves and grow into lifelong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1735095479556,"projectUrl":"project/extra-extra-read-all-about-it/8919144/","projectTitle":"Extra, Extra!
