When doing the self portrait project, when students first saw the canvas they were excited. It made them feel like they were real artist. Also the new rulers have gave them the opportunity to make straight perfect lines. Even outside of this project students will come up to me and ask for those steel rulers. These two materials made our self portrait project come to life.\r\n\r\nThey are in love with the painting on an actual canvas. It motivates them to want to finish their work and make it look good. These two materials gave my students the opportunity to learn the grid method, drawing technique. They now can use this technique to help them draw from looking at actual pictures. They were so excited while doing this project. You are the reason for this excitement. We are now moving on to our movie poster project where students will use the grid method again to transfer images into a drawing.
