Your contribution has profoundly reshaped our classroom environment, transforming it into a more emotionally responsive and engaged learning space. The focus of these new resources—Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and fine motor engagement—has allowed us to create a classroom culture where students feel safe, understood, and equipped to manage their feelings. \r\n\r\nThe initial moment when the students saw the materials was nothing short of electric. The arrival of the 76 Pack Sensory Fidget Toys Set immediately created a buzz of excited, yet focused, curiosity. For many students, the mere presence of these tools signaled an environment of trust and acceptance. Their eyes lit up, not at a new toy, but at a tangible, personal tool for self-management. \r\nThe fidgets quickly became integrated into daily routines providing the necessary sensory input to maintain focus without becoming a distraction. Simultaneously, the Coogam Preschool Magnetic Busy Books and the novel Electric Hole Punch were perceived as high-value, high-engagement center activities. The Busy Book, with its vibrant, themed stickers, became a favorite for building fine motor dexterity and quiet concentration during morning work, allowing students to independently practice matching and categorization skills.\r\n\r\nThe most transformative change, however our new Social Emotional Learning initiative, anchored by the 8 Mini Emotion Plush Toys and A Little SPOT of Feelings Hardcover Book Set. We have established a \"Feelings Check-In Station,\" where students are now empowered to non-verbally communicate their emotional state\r\n\r\nBeyond the immediate SEL tools, the remaining materials are enhancing executive function and productivity. The Electric Hole Punch is a huge hit, encouraging students and other teachers to take ownership of organizing their work. \r\n\r\nThe 20 Motivational Stress Balls were distributed throughout the 255@154 unit to teachers and can be used as motivational tools by other students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your faith in our classroom. Your generous contribution is not just funding materials; it is cultivating a generation of emotionally intelligent, resilient, and engaged learners.","fullyFundedDate":1762267639155,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-school-fun/9472414/","projectTitle":"Back to School Fun!!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Xiraki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1990806_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1459783589220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-xiraki-tselios"},{"teacherId":2053245,"projectId":9192763,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contribution to help fulfill my grant to purchase AV equipment for my school.\r\nOur school auditorium is out dated in its sound system and projector. During our moving up ceremony last year, this outdated equipment failed us halfway thru our ceremony. In the moment it was frustrating and embarrassing. \r\nThanks to your monetary support this years ceremony was a success!! This past Tuesday we celebrated our 5th grade students moving up to Middle School. This was the first opportunity to use the equipment that was purchased. \r\nThe bluetooth karaoke machine made it convenient to be controlled without being seen and projected loud enough for the whole auditorium to hear the music and announcers. The perks of having 2 microphones with the system made the transitions between speakers seamless and worked very well to project the sound from my students' communication devices.\r\nWith your generosity we were also able to purchase a bluetooth projector. With this, we were able to successfully show a photomontage showcasing each individual student. These slideshows are always very touching to see the student growth over their years with us. There were even some tears in the crowd. \r\nI am so grateful for this equipment and look forward to using it for years to come for parent engagement events, student activities, and future graduations. Thank you again for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1745852188516,"projectUrl":"project/av-equipment-for-students-with-disabili/9192763/","projectTitle":"A/V Equipment for Students with Disabilities 5th Grade Graduation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aimee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2053245_orig.png?crop=488,488,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742486855268","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2053245"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18771","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":46,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":18771,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 255Q@154Q on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 255Q@154Q","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/ps-255q-154q/18771"}
