The children rotated between several language arts and math centers all with their own glow twist! There was a center where students stamped out sight words onto bright colored playdoh. Another center that I had written high frequency words on from our year in first grade onto neon colored solo cups and the students read the word then stacked the word making into a giant tower of cups. This was a very exciting center! Another center was where the students rolled glow in the dark dice (super cool!) and wrote out math equations and solved them using the number they rolled on the dice. Another math center was where the children found math equations I had hung up around the room and wrote their answers using highlighters. The last center was another language arts one where students named the middle sound of a word and put a matching neon colored letter sticker on the corresponding picture. The children wore their glow bracelets and neon colored derby hats while participating in glow day.\r\nOnce all the students were at their beginning center, I closed the lights and thanks to the black lights you helped purchase the room glowed and we all screamed with delight.
