They took pictures with students and families and gave holiday goody bags to kids. It was so nice to see our families enjoy dinner and activities together. Some of our students groups got to perform and present. The gift bags given out by Santa and the Grinch were a hit with the kids. Teaching first grade my students needed a fun, engaging way to learn phonics without memorization. Secret Stories was the perfect solution to this problem. Secret Stories allowed for me to explain to my students the \"secret\" parts of words that would otherwise be tricky. Using these story based explanations helps makes understanding phonics fun and intuitive. When introducing the stories we closed the doors and made sure we were keeping the \"secrets\" . Students were so excited and couldn't wait to hear the stories. Incorporating gentures also made the secrets even more engaging and help students easily embed the strategies into thier reading.
