Many of my students are non verbal. I read to them to help expose them to language. The titles I selected for my project are similar to the few books I have in my room that they are continuously excited to read; Pete the Cat is their favorite. Having theme related options will help reignite their excitement while connecting the literature to their classroom work. They connect their speech and language needs with their fine motor needs. I create projects based on the books we read. My students love being read to but tend to stick to the same titles. These books will help them branch out of their comfort zone while maintaining some familiarity.
