Your generosity has given our students access to powerful texts that help them explore history through multiple perspectives and engage with topics that are both academically rigorous and personally meaningful.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active process. Students annotate texts, participate in discussions, ask critical questions, and connect historical events to contemporary issues. These books have helped students strengthen essential literacy skills such as analyzing arguments, evaluating evidence, identifying author perspectives, and engaging in thoughtful dialogue about complex topics. More importantly, they have encouraged students to see history as a living conversation rather than a collection of dates and facts.\r\n\r\nMany of our students have been especially engaged by the stories and voices highlighted in these texts. Students who may have previously struggled to connect with traditional history materials have shown increased participation and curiosity when reading about individuals and experiences that are often overlooked in standard curricula. The books have sparked meaningful classroom conversations about identity, justice, resilience, and civic responsibility. Because of your support, our students are not only becoming stronger readers and critical thinkers—they are developing a deeper understanding of themselves, their communities, and the world around them. Thank you for helping make this learning possible.","fullyFundedDate":1773868716769,"projectUrl":"project/african-american-history-class-set-of-bo/10094593/","projectTitle":"African American History Class set of Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mx.
