They will read daily and gain stamina as they read real-life stories about characters whom they can relate. Along the way, they will acquire and build an academic vocabulary that will prepare them for college and a career. My students need to be able to access these novels during and after school, and the only way to ensure this is to provide them with a personal copy. Taking a copy of this book home can be the beginning of a love for reading that may continue for years to come.
