Your contributions have made a real and measurable impact, not only by supplying essential materials, but by helping nurture creativity, confidence, and hands-on learning experiences that my students truly need. I want to take a moment to share why these donations matter so deeply and how they directly influence the growth and development of the young learners in my care.\r\n\r\nIn today's educational environment, creativity is not just an extra—it is a vital part of how students learn, express themselves, and develop problem-solving skills. Many of my students do not have access to art supplies, crafting tools, or project materials at home, which means the classroom becomes the only space where they can explore, imagine, and create freely. When materials are limited, their opportunities to engage in meaningful, immersive projects become limited as well. Your donations help bridge that gap.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students are able to participate in projects that spark excitement and deepen their understanding across multiple subjects. Whether we are designing T-shirts using our Cricut machine, building models, creating posters, or completing hands-on STEM activities, these experiences allow them to take ownership of their learning. Being able to physically create something makes lessons more memorable, helps information stick, and builds confidence in a way that worksheets alone simply cannot accomplish.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful things I've seen this year is the joy my students feel when they have a choice—when they can pick their own design, select their own colors, or brainstorm their own ideas. Something as simple as having the materials to make a personalized project gives them a voice in their work. It becomes more than an assignment; it becomes a moment where they feel heard, valued, and capable. This is especially important for students who may struggle academically or socially, because creative projects give them a chance to shine in ways they may not always have access to.\r\n\r\nYour donations also teach responsibility and pride. When students work with real tools and real materials, they learn how to follow steps carefully, how to collaborate effectively, and how to problem-solve when something doesn't go exactly as planned. These are skills they will carry with them throughout their lives, long after the project is complete.\r\n\r\nEvery marker, sheet of vinyl, pack of paper, and crafting tool you help provide becomes part of a larger purpose—helping students discover the joy of learning. Your generosity tells them that people believe in their potential. It shows them that their creativity matters. It encourages them to try new things, to take risks, and to see themselves as capable creators.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your support does not go unnoticed. The impact you make reaches far beyond the materials themselves—it reaches into the hearts and minds of every student who walks into my classroom. I am deeply grateful for your kindness, your generosity, and your willingness to invest in my students' education and future.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create, explore, and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1752506043494,"projectUrl":"project/getting-creative-and-comfortable/9281071/","projectTitle":"Getting Creative and Comfortable","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Trivisonno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7167452"},{"teacherId":7167452,"projectId":9536970,"letterContent":"Because of everyone's generous donations, we were able to purchase all the materials needed for our Cricut machine and bring a special Halloween project to life! 🎃✨\r\n\r\nEach student had the chance to choose their own superhero design, and watching their faces light up as their ideas became real T-shirts was truly priceless. 🦸♂️🦸♀️ From picking colors to seeing the final cuts come together, they were so excited to wear something they helped create.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just fund supplies—you helped create a memorable experience, build confidence, and make our classroom feel even more magical. Teaching ESL students is challenging, but these books have already been an amazing addition to my classroom. I am also confident that they will provide years of \"good memories\" as we read class novels together.\r\n\r\nOne of the struggles with choosing a good book to read with my students is being able to make it easy for my students to relate to the characters. By creating this class library of sets of books with characters based on the same places my students come from, I know that they will be able to increase their enjoyment while reading and really connect more!\r\n\r\nEverything is online these days, especially in the world of teenagers. My students were so excited to get all of the supplies delivered and took great care opening each and every package! We kept getting calls from security to go pick up more packages from the front desk- it felt like Christmas!\r\n\r\nMost of May was spent completing state exams. Needless to say, it is not the most exciting part of being a middle school student. When the exams were finally done, the kids LOVED being read out loud to. No, David and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus were clear favorites! We also enjoyed listening to music and decorating the canvas bags.\r\n\r\nDuring the last full week of school, we walked across the street to visit students at a neighboring elementary school. Not only did my ESL students get to practice reading out loud, the Second graders jumped in and read to their buddies- showing off their reading skills too! We hope to go back in the fall as well as to visit a local nursing home to share these books with the residents.","fullyFundedDate":1744204015206,"projectUrl":"project/book-buddies/9240151/","projectTitle":"Book Buddies!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Litman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp309108_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661736876391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/309108"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94524","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":882,"numTeachers":68,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.1,"schoolId":94524,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Franklin L Williams Middle School 7 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Franklin L Williams Middle School 7","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/jersey-city-public-school-district/franklin-l-williams-mid-school-7/94524"}
